This Adelaide-based manufacturer's reviews are mixed. Positive accounts describe a special custom door installed cleanly with the old door removed for a fee, and staff member Tony working through warranty options and coordinating a same-day fix around a customer's interstate travel plans. Other reviewers describe frustration getting a snapped spring or defective panel work resolved after installation, with promised follow-up on stained or dented panels and cracked key cover plates left unactioned for extended periods. Prospective customers should weigh the positive installation-stage reviews against the recurring after-sales complaints.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Our roller door, which is still under warranty after being installed in August last year, suddenly lost tension and jammed on an angle. This left us unable to get my car out and created a serious security and safety risk, as we had valuables in the garage and the property was left vulnerable. I contacted the company hoping for urgent assistance, but after waiting for hours with no response and not answering their phone, I couldn't keep waiting without knowing if anyone was actually coming. We were eventually told they probably wouldn't be able to attend this week, which was completely unacceptable given the circumstances. Because we couldn't leave our home unsecured for days, we had no choice but to organise another contractor, who attended immediately and fixed the issue. While repairing the door, they confirmed that it had not been installed correctly in the first place by this company. To make matters worse, I then received a phone call at around 2:40 pm saying they might be able to send someone that afternoon well after we had already arranged and completed the repair. The company is now refusing to honour the warranty because we had another contractor fix it, despite the fact that we only did so because they were unable to provide timely assistance for what was clearly an urgent situation. The customer service throughout this experience was also extremely disappointing. The staff member I dealt with was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. A warranty is only valuable if the company stands behind it when you actually need help. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
Hi everyone here - has Glideral followed through with any of their promise to investigate bad reviews? My experience with them so far has been appalling - I do not trust this company, their product and service.
My door started going up and down by itself and walking the street with my remote had no control of any neighbors. I emailed Gliderol as to what maybe the cause and basically got a we don't know answer, things happen! Later while my partner was backing the car in, the door again came down by itself and caused $2300 damage to the roof of the car. I later find out its the next door neighbors remote that can control my door while I can't control his. I do my own research and find out there is a way to clear all codes and pair just ours again excluding the neighbor. Hold code button for 8 seconds to clear all remotes. Why on earth would the manufacturer NOT tell me to try that? Thanks Gliderol my car now has to go for a new shark fin antenna and roof paint next week because you cannot give some basic advice. UPDATE - Its good to see contacting Alan at Gliderol directly resulted in absolutely nothing. Thats a second fail that goes with the first so no I cannot recommend this product, its insecure and potentially extremely damaging to your property.
Our garage doors were installed by Gliderol, so when a spring snapped I made the mistake of thinking the company that took my money might actually stand behind their own product. I physically went into their office. In person. Filled out their form with every single detail they demanded , address, phone number, email , and got the scripted, lifeless response: “we’ll get back to you.” Four days later? Nothing. No call. No email. No update. No apology. No accountability. Just silence so loud it says everything about how they operate. It takes less than a minute to send a reply. They couldn’t even be bothered to do that. That’s not being busy , that’s not caring. That’s a company that simply does not give a damn once they’ve been paid. While Gliderol was sitting on their hands doing absolutely nothing, another company answered immediately, booked the job, turned up on time, and replaced the broken springs without excuses or attitude. The door works. The problem is solved. That’s what competence looks like. Gliderol couldn’t even manage the absolute bare minimum of basic communication. If this is their idea of customer service, it’s not just bad, it’s insulting. Once they’ve got your money, you’re invisible. When something fails, you’re on your own. Zero communication. Zero urgency. Zero responsibility. Disgraceful, indifferent, and completely useless when it actually matters. If ignoring customers is their business model, they’ve perfected it.
I had an issue which I tried to resolve myself, I called through for some assistance and was put onto Tony in ‘Spare Parts’. I can’t praise Tony enough, we spoke at length about my issue and possible fixes, he looked at the warranty options and also spoke to contractors for further assistance. Due to tight timeframes with going interstate for work it was my highest priority. Tony recognised this and organised a same day fix. Such a major issue and inconvenience to me was promptly and easily solved by Tony and his team. Thanks again Tony!
Huge thank you to Matt Chapple who provided such excellent customer service over the past few weeks. From taking initial query, answering my call at 7am in the morning, coming and doing a quote at a time that suited me, giving lots of options and waiting patiently on a response when I was away on holiday. Nothing was too much trouble and all of our interactions have been professional and helpful. Thank you Matt.
