Newhams Hardware & Doors Showroom

Newhams Hardware & Doors Showroom is a Canberra-based business that supplies and installs security doors and screens throughout Canberra and the ACT region. It offers Crimsafe security doors and screens, which are made to measure and installed by factory trained installers, and come in many different frame styles and a full range of standard colours.

The company also provides internal doors in various timber species and combinations of timber and glass options, as well as external front doors combining classic and sophisticated entry doors with timbers and glass. Door hardware including locks, handles and hinges is available.

Praise for completed installations dominates the feedback, with doors fitted to a high standard and customers expressing satisfaction with the finished result. Several reviewers name Ron specifically, describing the workmanship on their doors as excellent and the service as fantastic and helpful. Grady is also singled out as pleasant and straightforward to deal with, arriving ahead of schedule and finishing promptly.

A recurring theme is the quality of the doors themselves, which customers describe as top quality once installed. The showroom operates as a door supplier and hardware store, also covering patio enclosures, security systems, windows and screen repairs, and the range of products available supports the installation work. Communication and reliability feature in the accounts, with staff members turning up when expected and completing the job without fuss.

One thing mentioned again and again is the courteous manner of the team during the visit. Among the less favourable accounts, some describe work that fell short of what was agreed, with a project running well beyond the expected timeframe and concerns about the standard of the finish and the cost. Others report difficulty getting assistance and a rude reception. The positive accounts centre on well-installed doors and the named staff who carried out the work.
