Garry Harper Garage Doors

Garry Harper Garage Doors is a garage door installation business based in Launceston, Tasmania. The business has more than 30 years of experience in the building trade. It is the distributor for the North and North-East for Steel-Line garage doors.

It services customers from Launceston to Swansea and all areas in between. The business supplies and installs garage doors, motors and electric and solar gate openers. It services garage doors and motors, recommended every 12 months. The business owner is Drew Ponting. The garage door technician is Josh.

Installation enquiries and routine servicing have prompted divided feedback for this Launceston garage door business. Customers who were satisfied describe efficient, prompt attention and staff who make jobs easy to deal with, with nothing treated as too much trouble during repairs and servicing. A less favourable thread runs through accounts of advice and communication, especially when quotes are requested. Several reviews describe repeated phone calls chasing a written price, promises of a callback that did not materialise, and an eventual visit where photographs were taken but the expected figure never arrived.

The same pattern is reported over months, with callers asking whether they were wasting the company's time. Advice on repairing and resetting a garage door also drew strong dissatisfaction, with one customer calling the outcome unacceptable. Administrative staff are singled out as the helpful element in these exchanges, handling enquiries courteously even when the technical response lagged. The work itself covers installation and servicing of garage doors, and while the standard of completed jobs satisfies some households, the recurring theme across the feedback is the gap between courteous first contact and the follow-through that customers expected on quotes and remedial work.
