TORMAX Tasmania

TORMAX Tasmania Pty Ltd commenced operations in 2004 as CBS Tasmania Pty Ltd and became part of the TORMAX Group in 2018. It offers statewide services from its head office in Launceston and a branch in Hobart. TORMAX Tasmania provides automatic doors and gates, wireless, remote control and swipe card access systems. TORMAX installed Europe's first automatic door in 1951. TORMAX is a leading manufacturer of automatic pedestrian and industrial door systems worldwide with 26 Group companies and 500+ distributors.

Its automatic pedestrian and industrial door systems are found in office buildings, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants, department stores, airports and train stations, on ships and in apartment buildings. TORMAX is a division of the LANDERT Group, a privately owned group founded in 1924 with headquarters in Bulach near Zurich, Switzerland. The LANDERT Group employs over 1000 staff across its two divisions, SERVAX and TORMAX.

Launceston is where TORMAX Tasmania operates as an automation company listed under garage door installation, based at Wilmot Street in South Launceston. One account describes a customer making contact about a gate motor and receiving a walkthrough of how it works by telephone, without any charge and with nothing expected in return.

The same account rates the assistance as outstanding and adds that the person would recommend the business to others, highlighting patience and a willingness to share knowledge about automation equipment. Work on gate motors sits alongside the broader automation offering reflected in the company's listing, and the premises open from early morning through to late afternoon on weekdays.
